Kang the Conquerer

This project was started before the news broke at SDCC about the future of the MCU. It was originally just supposed to be a project showing my love for the Marvel villain Kang, whose my second favorite villain after Dr. Doom. But now I suppose it’s a tribute to what has been lost.

Although I’m happy that Dr. Doom is finally entering the MCU (though not too happy about the actor playing him), I’m pretty upset that the whole Kang story is just getting dropped. I was looking forward to a possible adaptation of the Kang Dynasty storyline, and now the great Kang the Conquerer is now trapped to only be in an Ant-Man movie. It’s so sad because the character has so much more potential. As a time traveler, he’s equipped with virtually all weapons across time. Weapons from the future, tatics from the past and knowledge of historic events. Truly Kang is a very creative and overall fascinating character see.

As a multiverse hopper, the MCU could’ve produced essentially the same results. But sadly we’ll never know now, and Kang will probably go down as that “big bad” that just got dropped. Very sad, but at least we still have the comics, where us Kang fans can only dream of him being properly portrayed on the big screen.

Rodrick Kingsley

Shedding some light one of Marvel’s most underused characters, Rodrick Kingsley, the original Hobgoblin. Truly he’s one of Marvel’s best villains given how skilled he was at manipulating people in order to cover his tracks and use his Hobgoblin activities to better his bank account. Sadly once the character’s identity was revealed he got a proper send off and all future Hobgoblin stories just seem more interested in preserving the legacy of the character’s mysterious identity either by introducing a new Hobgoblin or having muliple ones, or even retconning old history. So Kingsley seems to really just get shoved into the background or played as an insignificant joke at times.

Mermaid Mary Jane

This was a project I did last month. It was Mer-May and I wanted to do more Marvel work for the fan portfolio. I took a lot of notes from John Romita Sr’s artwork for this piece, in fact this entire picture is complete reference to the very panel that she debuted in, with the similar dialogue and even the impact effect. Hope you all enjoy this really cute Marvel Mermaid.

New Spider-Gwen Piece coming soon!

It’s been a long time since I drew Spider-Gwen and I’m looking to expand my fan work portfolio with some more Marvel work. For this piece I decided to try something a bit different. Everytime I draw Gwen I’m always faced with the difficult choice of whether to do her with the mask or without, as I really like drawing both. This time I decided to do something combining the two to look like an epic comic cover. I seriously don’t know if anyone has ever done this before… meet EDGY Spider-Gwen.
