Owl House Art

So one last hoorah before we finish up with our Halloween draw off (this isn’t related). So this month I discovered Disney’s the Owl House, mostly in anticipation for the 1st of final episode specials. Well I fell in love with the show, and even watched the whole series TWICE in one month. The show’s story, the characters and even reading up on creator Dana Terrace’s history in making it kinda gave a major boost in creative energy and drive to make my own projects a reality, starting of course with Kalwa’s official publishing. More on that later.

Anyway, one little joy I have with making art like this is being able to take stylized cartoon characters and adding my own style and twist on them. I’ve kinda done a similar thing in the past with characters like Izzy from Total Drama and Ariel from little mermaid. So anyway, of course Luz the main character of the show was the focus and this month I cranked out THREE drawings of her this month in my own style. And I realized that none were posted to this site, so enjoy this owl house super package of all that’s come out this month. And I’ll probably be doing more in the future given how head over heals in love I am with this show.

Kalwa KOHAKU

Everyone’s dressing up for Halloween, our very own Kalwa included. She dyed her hair so she could be ,my true love, Kohaku from Dr. Stone. Those who follow should know I love drawing Kohaku, and even once had both Kalwa and Kohaku meet once before. So this was such a thrill to draw, especially with the opportunity to draw Kalwa with blonde hair. I actually had just gotten the Banpresto season 2 Kohakur figure for my anime figure collection so I had a lot of reference to go off of.

Kohaku

Those who know me should know I love Kohaku from Dr. Stone. Aside from being a warrior, she’s also just so darn cute and pretty. So once again I just wanted to draw her after spending a certain amount of time in my sketchbook at lunch perfecting her. Her eyes in particular have gotten real fun to draw!

Wedding Dress Kohaku

This is kinda an updated remake of a piece I did exactly one year ago today. So personally, Kohaku is my anime sweetheart, she’s so cute and at same time a warrior girl whose good with blades. So last year while sleeping I had a dream where Kohaku was wearing a wedding dress. Immediately I had to draw her, but over time I feel the original drawing wasn’t as good as I could’ve done. I’ve actually recently started practicing drawing familiar anime characters in their original art styles. One to get rid of the butterflies in my stomach when I draw them and two, to learn new techniques to better my own style. So here’s a full body remake of Kohaku wearing the dress, using some of the new techniques I’ve learned from practice. Finally got her eyes right, after learning to let go.

Winry Rockbell

I’m a little short on ideas of what to draw at the moment, we are getting ready for the next chapter of Kalwa and I’ve been really working on the next script. So not too much to draw other than the the next cover. So in the struggle I just decided to draw my former Hight School crush, Winry Rockbell. Yes this was the anime girl I was crushing on before Kohaku from Dr. Stone entered my life. Back in high school I didn’t actually draw as much, I was actually more into photo manipulation and didn’t really do much original stuff for a while. So here I am years later finally drawing her in my own style developed over years of work. So i hope everyone enjoys,

Kohaku Ramen

Right off the coattails of Makoto Shishio, comes Kohaku from Dr. Stone a frequent subject of mine. Truth be told I have a little woman worship for her and always feel that when I see someone elses art of her I feel inferior. So this time, I just went for cute, making her look as cute as possible eating some Ramen.

Kalwa Page Update

It’s been a while since I gave an update on the sister site of Kalwa, so today I’m giving an update that new pages are officially love on the website. We are now up to page twelve which is the near halfway point of this first chapter in the Japanese story arch, so it would be a great time to check out what we got. And don’t worry, more Amber pages are coming soon, I just got to get around to working on them. As usual, click the thumbnail below to see what we got.
