Big Head (the Mask)

Been years since I drew this character, but here’s a brand new illustration of Big Head, better known as the Mask to the public. This is NOT based off the Jim Carrey film, which honestly I can’t even watch anymore. This is based off the more violent and gory comics that inspired the films, which are most likely the most underrated comics of all time.

Unlike the Jim Carrey film in which the Mask was portrayed as a wacky “superhero,” the comic version was violent vigilante. The title the Mask actually referred to the mask itself and not the character it unleashed, and the mask itself actually had multiple users. Within these stories the mask would find it’s way to troubled people who were down on their luck and had pent up aggression towards the world around them. The mask would essentially turn them into powerful gods and give them the power to unleash that anger on the world. Some users were real criminals while some like Lt. Kellaway were more like violent anti-heros.

The comics had a theme of when an innocent joke went to far. The characters would lash out at the world around them, but sometimes catch themselves hurting those close to them, and the drama would drive them into a state of terror. I really hope with the success of R-rated films like Deadpool that we may one day see a more faithful adaptation of the Mask comic, heck I’ll even help fund it.

Miku Nakano

I’m so behind on my uploading. This image is quite a few weeks old. So here’s Miku Nakano from the anime the Quintenssential Quintuplets. She’s my favorite of the sisters, plus she’s voiced by Felicia Angelle who also voices Kohaku from Dr. Stone (pretty sure you know how much I like her).

This was drawn on the some extra time. I was rewatching the Quintessential Quintuplets for like the tenth time while working on Kalwa pages and just felt like drawing her in a fanservice like pose.

I am Sakuyamon

Yet another Digimon piece, this one based off of season three, also known as Digimon Tamers, aka the best season yet. The whole Biomerge concept is pretty cool for Digimon, the idea of Digidestined fusing with their Digimon and both enter the battlefield. It was also similar to Spirit Evolution in which a kid is fused with a spirit to become a Digimon. It was a cool idea, but was used in my opinion in a lame season, that being Frontier.

Anyway, here’s Sakuyamon, the fusion of Rika and her Digimon Renamon. Of course I was gonna do Rika, she’s my favorite character from Tamers and one of my favorite characters in the whole Digimon Franchise.

Luigi’s Mansion

A little spur of the moment based on a old game I love. While I haven’t always been a fan of the Mario World in general, though my opinion has changed very recently, I have always loved Luigi. Mainly this is due to the video game series Luigi’s Mansion in which the little coward is facing his worst fears in order to save his captured brother Mario.

In particular the original Luigi’s Mansion has a special place in my heart as it was a launch title on the Game Cube, and I got both the system and the game on Christmas Day 2001. Every time I turn on the game and see the title screen I’m flashed back to the Christmas Day when I first played the game on our first new game system in years.

This is kinda a little darker and more mature take on the game, hence why I’ve tried to make Luigi a little more proportionally correct and the Boo more fierce.

Luz and Amity Alien Encounter

Once again the creature from Alien Encounter comes to terrorize our website, this time crossed over with the Owl House characters Luz and Amity. This was the original project I was working on at first, but the alien was so much fun to draw that I started to draw a solo for it.

This is the first of a series of Owl House crossovers with Disney Park attractions, they won’t all be dark like this, some will be quite cheerful hopefully. Course I can’t say the same for when they encounter a certain Yeti… just have to see more coming soon.

Extraterroresstrial alien encounter

For those Disney park fans this might be a little familiar. So this is vicious alien from the now closed attraction ExtraTERROResstrial Alien Encounter. It’s widely considered to be scariest attraction Disney has ever made, as it was sit down theater ride that encloaked the audience in total darkness and used binary sound and special effects to simulate this vicious beast moving about the room. It was so intense that there were warning signs all around the the attraction warning it might be too intense for younger children.

These signs however didn’t stop the attraction from gaining notoriety as being too scary and it was shut down after only eight years. It was later replaced with Stitch’s Great Escape which quickly became an unpopular attraction that closed itself, leaving the theater at Magic Kingdom currently deserted. While I never rode the attraction myself, I do remember seeing it when I went to Disneyworld back in 2000. I was only ten years old then and I was scared to go on many rides, so of course the signs chased me away. I’ve since kinda become fascinated by the attraction cause I’ve grown up to be a horror lover and really just eat up anything scary. Though I admit I’m not a fan of haunted house attractions just cause I don’t like people jumping out at me.

Kalwa Japanese Festival

This was a little piece I designed for my studio featuring Kalwa, Zack, and Reko enjoying a Japanese festival with many other characters they’ve met along the way. Group shots like these can be a little nerve racking as I feel I can get tunnel vision and get a tad sloppy. Still I think it’s a real pretty piece.

Evil Belos

New Illustration of Belos, the main villain from the Owl House. Just wanted to draw him in a really dark and menacing way just cause I was in the mood. Kinda putting some emphasis on his genocidal plans.

The Phantom

Took a shot at drawing Lee Falk’s famous character the Phantom. I’ve kinda become a fan of the character quietly since reading finding books of the old comic strips in a second hand book store. Kinda got a little nervous and fussy over the the physique of the character. I was also trying to get a but of wrinkles from the suit in there, the whole time I was using my Phantom figure from NECA that sits on my desk.
