Fanart

Some post Halloween artwork I’ve been working this past month. Two of my favorite villains Reverse-Flash and Makoto Shishio from Ruroni Kenshin. Also here’s Kiki from Kiki’s Delivery Service, which was kinda a request from a fan on Facebook. He actually requested it in early October, but Kiki’s too cute for our rather dark Halloween Draw Off, so I was saving it for afterwards.

I’m trying to start eliminating heavy use of dark shadow as I feel some of my past drawings had a little too much and it was drawing out the ink. So now I”m trying to lighten it and keep the inking more relevant in the finished art.

Kalwa character sheets

These have already been posted to the Kalwa website, but I wanted to post them here too. So I’ve started making character sheets of my characters as a way keep consistency amongst drawings. Namely color is kinda a struggle since I wind up shifting through tones of old drawings through disks.

I’ve also wanted to have some colorful production art to show off amongst my original work as well as trying to keep some design consistency. Mainly Kalwa’s ponytail hair style is the source of trouble, since it’s a very subtle change to her normal hair. It was actually based off a really life issue with drawing her hair too close to her eyes, as seen below.

I’m currently working on one for Reko too, and have one for my character the Raptor Queen, whose story I’m trying to get back to working on.

Envy

First ever fanart of Envy from Fullmetal Alchemist. One of my favorite anime villains and one of the few anime villains I consider to be a really great character. Envy’s the best kind of villain, a bully who relishes in other’s suffering, and he’s got a real snarky and cheerful attitude about doing it. You just really love to hate this guy.

Warrior trio

Kinda a left field subject matter for me. I recently watched the extended film versions of Lord of the Rings. Some of the most epic movies ever made, but boy are they long. Going through all of them is like the actual experience of carrying the one ring, starts of easy but gets harder as you het to the end.

Well anyway, the warrior trio of Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli are easily the best characters and I wanted to take a shot at drawing them all in a group shot.
