So after working on Shadow and Metal Sonic, we finally have the blue blur himself, Sonic the Hedgehog. When making this piece, there was a lot of inspiration from the character’s past. First of all, the general look of the piece was inspired by Archie Sonic issue 3 in which Sonic and Tails had “zoomed” off the comic and then back on claiming that their comic was the one to buy. Also while working on this I added a blue hue to the piece which was inspired by the classic art of the Genesis which has always tried to look “futuristic” and “advanced. And of course, the general design with shades is inspired by Steve Butler from the original Archie comics (around the early post 100th issue) as are all the Sonic drawings that I do here. Anyway, hope everyone likes it.

So I know it’s been a little quite as of late on all my social media. To vent myself a little, I’ve been busy coming to terms with this new reality we are living in with this virus going around, and I myself am quite worried not necessarily for my sake but for my loved ones and my “other job.” So I have been having trouble getting myself drawing again. Anyway, here is a little WIP update on an upcoming piece that’ll be going up soon.

Sorry everyone for the late page, I was prepping for my trip to Disneyland last week and would’ve had to rush the page without anytime to review, and I didn’t want to work on the page under extreme pressure. Anyway, I’ve returned from vacation and the new page is up and on the official page, click the thumbnail below to view the page.

Currently I am away from my desk and won’t be back until later this week. Seeing as I how I would be rushing the page to website without having time for a second look, I’ve decided to delay the release of the next Amber page till next Sunday due to other commitments. A little experiment to better diversity in the Green Raptor portfolio, experimenting with the fully deformed Chibi Style. Here are Kalwa and Amber in super deformed style!!! Thinking about doing a few others in this style too, Reptileena maybe?

Kalwa Chapter 21 is now COMPLETE!!!!

It’s been a bit rough for this chapter of Kalwa due to it starting around the time of the Christmas rush as well as the fall out with Smackjeeves. I also took a few breaks to practice and work on anatomy to better enhance the artwork as well as page layout. However that is all behind us now. Chapter 21 has been completed and it is ALL available to read on the official Kalwa website for FREE. Just simply click the thumbnail below and check out what fate befalls Kalwa and Zack as they face an old enemy from one of Kalwa’s earlier adventures.

Kalwa will be going on a short hiatus on new pages so that I can focus on refurbishing some old pages in preparation for official publication of the first Kalwa graphic novel. The book will be out for sale in June of this year and new pages will return in May. In the meantime, I will keep you posted on behind the scenes material on both this website and the Kalwa website and give updates on progress. So stay tuned for more goodness coming your way.
