More Halloween 2022

More Halloween fun is upon us all, for all month long I’ll be drawing monsters, dark stuff and Halloween related stuff. Up next on this parade of terror, the Gill Man (aka Creature from the Black Lagoon) and returning favorite the Crypt Keeper from Tales from the Crypt. The Gill-Man I did some little re-designs for in order to update the look of the character. The Crypt Keeper was drawn during my first Halloween under the name Green Raptor Studios, I’ve since wanted to revisit the character and do and update from what I’ve learned since then. More Halloween fun is on the way, so stick around!!!!

Kalwa KOHAKU

Everyone’s dressing up for Halloween, our very own Kalwa included. She dyed her hair so she could be ,my true love, Kohaku from Dr. Stone. Those who follow should know I love drawing Kohaku, and even once had both Kalwa and Kohaku meet once before. So this was such a thrill to draw, especially with the opportunity to draw Kalwa with blonde hair. I actually had just gotten the Banpresto season 2 Kohakur figure for my anime figure collection so I had a lot of reference to go off of.

HAlloween 2022

As we do every year, it’s the annual Halloween draw off. All month long I’ll be drawing monsters, dark things and just plain Halloween fun that involves both original and non-original characters. Here’s our first two drawings for the month, the Hatbox Ghost from Disney’s Haunted Mansion and Michael Keaton’s Batman from the 1989 classic. More awesome stuff on the way all month long!

Marin Kitagawa (again)

Long time no post. I’ve kinda lost track updating this website and recently I fell off track from updating the Kalwa comic and had to catch up on that. So this drawing was actually a sketch I did at lunchtime at my day job, I kinda liked it so much that I I converted it to a digital drawing. I’m actually thinking of doing stuff like this more often since I’ve started doing full on illustrations for lunchtime sketches, and it’s much easier to draw and play around on break than after work when I’m tired. Anyway, hope everyone enjoys it.

Kalwa Chapter 26 Begins

After a couple of delays involving house changing, chapter 26 of Kalwa has officially launched. This is a unique one as it will focus on less on Kalwa and more on her brother, save for this intro. Right now we have the first two pages up while a third page will be added on Wednesday. Link to the comic is right below, just click the thumbnail below to access the comic.

Borg Drone

A very complicated drawing of a Borg Drone. I’m not really much of a Star Trek fan, I do like the Next Generation and I’m quite fond of the characters Seven of Nine and Captain Janeway from Voyager, but not really a huge fan. I have however always liked the Borg, they’re so creepy and cool looking they really make the show fun. So here’s a random drone which was supposed to be a simple sketch but wound up becoming a lot more complicated. This isn’t based on any particular Borg from the show, and since Borg don’t have a uniformed look, this was kind of a “design as you go” project, which of course left me exhausted at the end of the day.

Ariel

Finally I draw Ariel for Mer-May, probably the most famous Mermaid and I haven’t done her Mermay once! So here we are at last with Ariel herself, drawn in a more realistic style. I got real obsessive on this piece as the thumbnail I drew in my sketchbook had such a lovely face that I couldn’t replicate on the finished work, so wound up tracing the face onto the final piece.

Dr. Stone starts off mer-May

Well it’s officially May, and that means it’s Mer-May online, so it’s time to start the fun. Here’s a starter with Senku and Kohaku from Dr. Stone, in lovely Mer-Folk form. Tried adding some extra details to their details to their tails to kinda simulate their attire in the show a bit.
